A most incredible family experience in the Solomon Islands + Wonderful hosts and local culture, resort location/proximity to attractions and the best-tasting foods − Lack in amenities

A little piece of paradise - + I had the pleasure of staying 2 days at Leleana resort in Gizo. And what an amazing stay. Got picked up by boat at the airport and was taken to Gizo city for shopping at the local market, and shops. After that we had a 30min boat ride to Kolombangara island. Was greeted with at flower necklace while surrounded by hundreds of beautiful butterflies. My bungalow was with sea view, and right on the water. Fresh breeze kept the temperature low at night and sleeping to the waves and bird sounds was so relaxing. Food was of course home made and super delicious. Fridge and freezer in the room. To keep your own beverages cold. They have perfect working wifi, accessible in the dining area. Most are powered with solar power, but they do have generator when needed. Surroundings are so beautiful. Ocean and corals on the one side and the lake covered in mangroves on the other side. I can highly recommend this place.

Unwind in a beautiful setting on a vibrant island + Loved my stay, highlight of my journey. Felt like being party of the family. The views are amazing, as were the nature walks and boat trips through the lagoon. Great spot for birding, or just reading a book. Pick-ups and drop-offs went perfectly. Highly recommended!

Great getaway to digitally detox but needs a little fine tuning + Opportunity to take trips to nearby snorkelling places. Local staff were very nice and tried hard to please. It was very clean and usually quiet. Very pleasant grounds with nice balcony and sitting areas with native plants and felt very safe. We appreciate it is a developing resort and has a lot of potential and improvements were being made even as we were there. − No fans Food apart from freshly grilled fish and coconut pumpkin was limited options and not to our taste. Would suggest get local sim card Some miscommunication with management. Be prepared for what is known as island time

Very good + We loved the natural unspoilt island. A top class location with a wonderful host,Lilly. The food was authentic, plentiful and yummy. The staff are super natural and very helpful This is not a luxury resort it is a natural ecco resort the way the world used to be before laminex and chrome! where life is simple and relaxing. − All good

Beautiful islands of Western Solomons + Lily was very friendly and helpful (as well as her staff - Thomas, Danny, little Lily, Wesley, Clay and Peggy) in connecting us with the lovely local villages of Ghatere and Kuzi on Kolombungarra as well as taking us to the various townships of Gizo, Ringgi and Noro and cooking us beautiful fish straight out of the sea, for dinner. The colours of the sea are spectacular and we saw dolphins on several of our trips. We were researching family history in relation to the loss of the Esperanza in 1880 − Although the resort was very picturesque and the staff very helpful, an upgrade to the power supply and telecommunications connection would make a welcome addition to the resort as this would address the lack of hot water, fans, device connections and perhaps wifi

Authentic homestay-like but chaotic experience + Unique location and authentic experience like a homestay − No wifi, no electricity in rooms to say charge a phone, no aircon, and staff is quite clueless about things and planning any requests.

+ Run by Lily, a strong Salomon women. We learned a lot from her on the Salomon Spirits. We went shopping with her in Noro prior to our pick up which was a great opportunity. Very nice bungalow, great orchid garden and coral reef for snorkeling around the pier. − Altogether quite overpriced, especially the food. You need the boat for every activity which comes for a significant cost. Unexperienced guides. No WiFi, no phone connection (with our SIM). Re-Contact them a few days before your trip to make sure the boat pick up service works.

Absolutely incredible place and people - holiday in paradise! + Stayed at Leleana with my 9 year old son and had the most amazing time. Lily and the team were so friendly and helpful. We snorkelled and explored the surrounding islands by boat. The accomodation right on the water was incredible: bungalows on the sea, restarant on the freshwater lake - both teeming with amazing fish life!

The best holiday experience we'e had. + Leleana Eco Resort is owned by some lovely people who went out of their way to accommodate us. Originally our flight from Honiara to Gizo did not go ahead, so Lily offered to pick up up via boat and taxi from Munda. It was extremely out of their way and greatly appreciated. We had arranged a food package prior to our stay. When Lily picked us up, she took us through many different food markets to choose our groceries and meet a lot of lovely locals. Staying at this Eco Resort was extremely relaxing, beautiful, and gave us some of the most unforgettable memories. To top it off, a lot of the tours offered here gives money directly to the local villagers so it felt good to be able to support their communities. A few tours to highlight would be the River Cruise, Village Tour, Picnic on Makuti Island, WW2 tank, Island hopping and another guest highly recommended the bird watching guided tour. Other activities they set up for us was a beautif…
