The hotel with that extra personal touch for their guests + The staff and its management are doing an amazing job to feel welcomed and at home during our time in El Nido. Almost every day you find a homemade cookie or some pasterie in your room. The hotel is located in El Nido town close to everything within walking distance. Hotel facilities are well preserved and in very good shape. Food is very delicious. We highly recomend The funny lion to other travellers that seek hospitality with an extra personal touch.

Fun & relaxing stay. + Close to the town centre & shops. Very friendly & attentive staff. Rooms are quite spacious with all the amenities one can need. Breakfast was adequate for a small hotel. Front office staff were always helpful & always welcoming.

Incredible hotel. Perfect stay in El Nido. + Amazing stay at the Funny Lion. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms are well kept. The service was perfect - special shoutout to Val and Edgar who were extremely helpful and kind during our stay.

Great stay and would absolutely recommend. The beach access is a huge bonus! + Such a great experience! The beach access alone is worth the stay. The hotel provides access to a private beach that is accessed by boat. Transportation is provided and to say it was stunning is an understatement. The hotel itself is not beachfront but the town is easily accessible. The food at the hotel was excellent. We enjoyed the Friday night buffet and breakfast was also very good. Service was beyond excellent. Val at the front desk was super communicative. We had troubles with issues that had nothing to do with the hotel and Val went above and beyond to help us navigate our challenges and helped us to find solutions. To say I was impressed by the service is an understatement. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. It’s a little more than I wanted to spend in El Nido but I’m super glad we stayed here.

Heaven on Earth at The Funny Lion + This place is heaven on earth. If I could give it more than 5 out of 5 I would. From the beautiful and caring staff to the amazing facilities, we could not ask for more. NYE was a fantastic with a banquet that left us speechless. Little caring gestures like a jar of goodies at night, remembering our names and always polite and friendly staff. Private beach was picturesque and water was crystal clear. We will be back!

Best hotel in El Nido!! + The funny lion was the best hotel we stayed at in the PI. They staff was incredible and the rooms were immaculate. Will definitely come back and stay when in El Nido. Highly recommend staying here if you’re in el Nido. Miss Val was really good at her job and didn’t miss a beat when it came to service!

Amazing hotel! + We visited with our family of 22, and our stay was absolutely amazing. Ms. Val truly went above and beyond, assisting us in every way possible. From organizing excursions to providing excellent restaurant recommendations—and even memorizing all of our names—her attention to detail was exceptional. Every member of the staff was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The New Year’s Eve dinner and viewing party was amazing! The rooms were comfortable, newly renovated and clean. Would love to return again someday!

Excellent + Excellent, staff were incredibly helpful and friendly!!! Breakfast was good lots of choice ! Kindly gave us cookies on New Year’s Eve. We also booked a brilliant boat tour through them. We can’t recommend tour A enough. The only thing we would say was the room was a little dark. But this is really the only very minor thing. Definitely stay here if you’re visiting El Nido. Location was excellent! New Year’s Eve was incredible here too. Thanks again to Funny Lion for a fantastic last stop on our trip to the Philippines 🫶🏻
