A lodge building with character and friendly staff. Highly recommended. + We were made to feel very welcome, the building has a lot of character, the lounge with complimentary drinks was a very nice touch. The breakfast choice was excellent, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended. − Nothing

Beautiful heritage home in a stunning location. + Quirky, comfortable, clean with excellent facilities! Comfy beds. Lovely and warm. Beautiful location close to town. Lovely thoughtful touches like the breakfast supplies. Big rooms. − The only small thing was it was really cold inside when we arrived but once it was warm it stayed warm.

Recommend it!! + Interesting building / grounds with a quirky history. Close, but not too close, to the centre of town. The library / sitting room was good for chatting to the other guests in front of the fireplace. The hosts were very friendly and had good local tips on places to eat and visit − Only one small thing - the bedroom near the kitchen / dining room was a bit noisy early in the mornings

+ Un accueil à la fois simple, chaleureux et humoristique. Un sens du détail pour le confort incroyable : on se sent attendu avec authenticité. Passer une soirée et une nuit dans ce train dans lequel l'histoire a été conservée et la modernité ajoutée avec discrétion a été un moment que nous garderons précieusement dans notre mémoire. Le Lodge où nous avons pris notre petit déjeuner a également été un lieu et un moment fabuleux : l'humour et le respect sont dans chaque détail Bravo à notre hôtesse et à son équipe et merci pour cet incroyable accueil

+ Rustige ligging, groot domein. Ons verblijf, huis met een geschiedenis karakter lag helemaal aan de andere kant van het grootte huis op het domein. Vriendelijke eigenares, goeie wandeltips ontvangen. Filmtip was de moeite waard. Ligging zo'n 2km van centrum van Te Anau. − Voor ontbijt hadden we wel iets anders verwacht. Kregen wel brood, fruit, melk, yoghurt, eieren .... maar geen gedekte tafel. Dat was wel spijtig.

Te Anau..must see destination on a self drive holiday. + Good location. Vintage vibes. Well equipped. Good heating. Peaceful. Quiet. Parking at the door. Smooth check in. Generous breakfast provision. − WiFi is seriously slow. Only 1 bathroom for 3 bedrooms.

Old world charm with modern comforts + Quirky place. A convent converted into a hotel with rooms having medieval names and projecting an old world charm. Has a charming library, stately dining room, even a old world lift to carry luggage to the upper floor. Excellent host (Donna), personalized service, good breakfast add up to a wonderful experience. Highly recommend for travellers who are tired of the hotel rooms which all look the same and offer indifferent service. − Nothing at all!

+ I enjoy the location and can imagine in the warmer months that the grounds would be lovely. Breakfast was ample and cooked fresh. − The room was very small and the building is starting to look very tired in places. We were returning guests so perhaps we see things differently.
