Good base for Reykjavík + Central location. Useful kitchen. Quiet. Balcony a nice addition. − Clear window looking across at neighbours with no blind! Pillows very thin.

Overall, a nice, centrally located place that I would stay at again. + It is centrally located in the main thoroughfare. The room was very clean and larger than expected. Check-in was easy with the key codes working at the appropriate time. The skylight opened and allowed for the room to cool off from the Icelandic winds. − It does not have an option to drop bags and go before your check-in time. There was a local company that uses local businesses to hold bags a block or two down the road. The bottom floor is awkwardly situated behind a restaurant that caters to dinner. The smells emanating were good, but not necessarily wanted.

This location is a good choice. + Location fantastic, on main shopping street and next to bus stop. It can be a bit noisy in weekend nights. There is a mini fridge and an electric stove. I found the bed to be very comfortable. There is a supermarket a minute away. − Perhaps a microwave oven. The duvet was a little short for me, I’m tall

+ Posizione fantastica

A great jumping off point to the whole trip. + We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Vera. It was a spacious room with a small kitchenette and a good sized bathroom. Had we been staying in Reykjavik the whole week this would have been a great base. While others didn't like going through a restaurant, I enjoyed how unique the setting was. It felt like a fun secret back room to the restaurant space. We really appreciated the amenities like the Nescafe coffee maker, fridge, dishes, and coffee pods since we had just arrived. − The blinds for the sky light were a little difficult to open and close. I almost took myself out when I tripped over the entry way to the bathroom because it was so raised, but these are really minor things overall. It would be very helpful if the properties in Reykjavik were a little more specific with details about where to park and parking zones. We finally figured it out but not without a lot of time and energy and worry that we would be ticketed.

Overall NOT happy with our stay—NOT seamless. + Location was good, near a lot of the tourist sites. Room was comfortable and very clean, plus we appreciated the Nespresso machine in our room. − Hotel needs to be upfront that there is NO desk or assistance on scene. That means when you are coming from overseas, you cannot stow your bag and take off to play tourist. If you call the desk number, they will direct you to a bus station approx 10 minutes away to stow your bags. Also, we paid for a late checkout, but they couldn’t seem to keep track of that. They sent an automated email reminding me of the normal checkout time, and I responded that I had a late check out…but they did not reprogram my room code to enable me to get back into my room to collect my bags. So another overseas phone call to get that turned back on.
