Amazing Location, very comfy bed and brilliant service. + So comfortable and so convenient a location , close to everything we needed for our 8 night stay. The staff were super friendly and professional, housekeeping fantastic. Bed and pillows were very comfy, great shower, the room (1063) had wonderful sea and marina views, there was complimentary water, a Nespresso machine and a great small bar fridge. We Dined at the Backyard Restaurant twice which was great both times for the price.The Horizon Club for breakfast and early evening drinks and canapes was amazing. − As many other reviewers have noted the hotel is looking a bit tired and a refresh would be welcomed. But for our stay, the level of comfort and service we had made any knocks, scratches and wear completely irrelevant.

Not the normal 5 star Shangri-La stay overall quality we have experienced in other states. + Room were tidy and met the basic standards of a high end stay. − Really tired format, pool area is falling apart, no spa, decking need replacing and overall not 5 star quality. Front reception was always backing up when we attended with lengthy waits.

Rude staff, uncomfortable beds. Stay at the Casino, it's only one block away and it's lovely. + Great location, but the check in process was not pleasant. They took a security deposit for the FULL accommodation fee plus $100 a night & then charged me the full fee again on checkout. They told me I would receive a refund in a few days. Rude staff, uncomfortable beds. − Rude Staff who overcharged me for the security deposit. Uncomfortable beds (2 beds pushed together that weren't the same height), decor in the room was dated.

Disappointed + Location was quite good − The overall presentation was not consistent with how I perceive the Shangri-La brand to be...not in SE Asia anyway. The hotel was quite tired looking in many of the common areas. The room fit out was ok, although there is something about hard floors that reduce the comfort level. The timber floor boards on the balcony were partly rotted, and timber decking around the pool had deteriorated in spots. Overall I would say the cost of $475 for a Thursday night was far too expensive for what I would rate at best a tired 4 star hotel. Breakfast also I thought was very ordinary.....3 star at best.

Fantastic and would definitely stay here again + Location, view of the marina, facilities. The pool was beautiful and the deck bar was very convenient. You can order drinks with a bar code. Ample daybeds poolside too. Restaurant menu was a little limited so we didn’t eat there. Lots of different dining options nearby. Staff were friendly and very helpful. And we were able to get an early check in.
