Disappointing overall, especially considering the high prices and the way the transfer situation was handled. + The location was convenient for visiting Sepilok and the surrounding area. The property itself is in a nice natural setting. − The bunk-bed room was quite dirty and had clearly not been properly cleaned for a long time. There was a lot of dust, which made the room feel neglected. The restaurant was also extremely overpriced. The food was very average and definitely not worth the prices, which were excessively high. The biggest issue was the transfer from Sepilok to Sukau. The resort arranged the transfer and told me everything was ready, but the driver never arrived. I was later told that the driver had forgotten about me and was already too far away, so I had to arrange a private driver at almost four times the original price. I was also given no response when I asked the resort for the driver’s contact details. When I arrived at my next homestay, I was told that the tra…

Great overall stay in the dorms, would stay again + I liked that it overlooked the forest, with lots of wildlife around. Good buffet breakfast and staff are great and helpful with any questions. Dorms come with a towel and very comfy mattress and pillow − A few things are a little run down and need tending to! I was staying in the dorms, which overall were great, but they need attention to cleaning! Can see that they come in to change beds, but do t sweep the floor and the toilet/shower smells of urine. Same goes for the toilet in the restaurant! Food options are a little over priced. Would be great if they had a dish of the day deal, as they are also catering to backpackers!

Wonderful stay + Bearing in mind that you don’t book a place like this, in the middle of the jungle, if you’re expecting a 5-star Hilton, I found it absolutely perfect for the occasion. Peaceful, quiet, surrounded by nature, with a swimming pool and an excellent restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds, cleanliness, and hot water in the shower. Honestly, I expected it to be much more rough. It’s also just a 10-minute walk from the Orangutan and Bear Centre and reasonably close to the Rainforest Discovery Centre. − The restaurant, which is your only option in the area unless you have a car, is a little on the pricey side, if I have to say.
