Il Geco, the best choice for a stay in Matera. + Matera is truly fantastic, with a magical atmosphere, and “Il Geco” blends perfectly with that feeling. It’s a small gem set among the Sassi, in a wonderful location right in the heart of the historic area. The apartment features an extremely comfortable bed in the centre of the room and a mezzanine that lets you experience the raw stone up close. The bathroom is surprisingly large considering the overall space, and the kitchen is small but equipped with everything you need. Finding an aperitivo with a fresh spritz, water, and a mix of savoury and sweet snacks was a really pleasant surprise I don’t think we could have been any luckier — definitely a place to consider for a future stay − Nothing major to point out, except that the air‑conditioning system could use some modernisation. The old unit works, but it’s a bit too noisy compared to modern standards

Lovely apartment right on the heart of the beautiful Sassi in Matera! + The location was excellent in the heart of the Sassi, very comfortable and so special to be able to stay in a cave style apartment. Really appreciated the snacks, Bottle of wine and comforts when we arrived, and the opportunity to check in earlier due to the heat! Close to so many restaurants and easy to walk around and explore. Daniela checked in with us regularly to make sure all was well and offered help if we needed it. − The instructions for getting to the apartment were very comprehensive and with so much detail a bit confusing, we did accidentally drive into the Sassi in the afternoon and needed to get out quickly to avoid a Police Fine! The shopkeeper ( Mr Georgio) that had our key was not friendly and appeared to be annoyed at having to show us where our apartment was. Daniela was quick to respond to us when we had questions and did assist us in avoiding penalties and when we could drive into to load lugg…

+ Nous avons aimé l'emplacement. − Pas d'accueil et on sent que la personne ne veut pas nous voir et cela avant même d'arriver. Elle propose de l'aide si besoin mais c'est juste des paroles, ne serait-ce que pour donner un drap.Ses réponses, uniquement via WhatsApp sont assez agressives surtout pour 2 clientes dont c'est le métier. On ne se sent pas à l'aise. Le jour du départ elle attendait devant mais à fait semblant d'être une touriste alors qu'elle avait le sac de linge. On ne peut pas dire que ce soit accueillant. Il ne suffit pas de mettre une bouteille de Spritz et des taralli à disposition !

Vera esperienza + La struttura è nei sassi ed è stata arredata con gusto. Tantissimi i particolari e le attenzioni dei proprietari vere e proprie coccole. È stato facilissimo raggiungere la struttura perché con anticipo ci sono state inviate informazioni foto e video. Bellissimo. Si trova nel centro e facilmente si trovano ristorantini e graziosi bar dove bere e mangiare con una vista spettacolare. Bagno ampio e pulito e ben curato. Ci torneremo sicuramente − Nulla tutto bella

Localização no coração de Matera + O apartamento fica localizado muito próximo a uma das ruas principais do centro historico Sassi di Matera. Apesar de não poder entrar de carro, existem ruas próximas em que da pra estacionar na rua gratuitamente, e um estacionamento pago caso necessário. Vale a pena para viver uma imersão nas cidade de pedra. Apartamento bem equipado, banheiro e chuveiro ótimos. − Pouca flexibilidade da host em relação a horários. Estava perto no horário do check in e solicitei entrar cerca de 1h antes, e foi cobrado 10 euros por hora antecipada, sem muita flexibilidade.

Worth staying for a cave experience! + The host was incredible at staying in touch and clearly stating where the apartment was located and how to access it. + Kommunikation per Whatsapp (mit Bildern/Video der Lage und der Parkmöglichkeit) sehr gut. Die Wohnung ist liebevoll eingerichtet und die Lage des Sassi sehr gut (viele Restaurants und sehenswertes unmittelbar in der Nähe) − Uns hat alles gefallen.
