Fantastic stay! + This place was AMAZING. It was like staying in a treehouse for a couple of days! To roll over in the morning and see those mountains was unforgettable. Joe and his team were great and helped us navigate some scheduling snafus. Yes, you will walk up steps to get to the hotel. (And yes, the staff will help you!) Yes, there could have been more hooks in our room and more room for toiletries. But oh my goodness, the views and the experience were second to none. My wife and I are looking forward to getting back to Peru soon, and we will make sure that we go back to the Rupa Rupa for several more days.

Rooming at Rupa + The Rupa Rupa is up quite a steep set of stairs. Once up there the room for four was large enough, however the bathroom is a bit small for four people. The breakfast was good and staff were friendly. You can hear the birds in the morning but also the nightlife so it's not quiet most of the day. Overall it was great, just be sure you can do 5 flights of stairs often and are okay with mountain air moisture.

Great stay + We had a great stay. When we arrived by train, someone was there to pick us up. We ended up missing him but appreciated the gesture. Check in was quick and room was ready by regular check in time. The location of the hotel was perfect, off of main plaza and close to train and bus stations. Keep in mind that the only way to get up to the hotel is by several flights of stairs. Luckily we packed light. The room was comfortable and clean. A free breakfast was included and it was bread, fruit, cereal, with coffee, tea, or juice. Overall, it was all we needed for our visit to Machu Picchu.

+ Get ready to climb some stairs

+ This has been one of my favorite hotels while on our Peru trip! The views are spectacular, the hotel is extremely clean, and it was very comfy after many hours of traveling. Josue was friendly, helpful, and so accommodating. He made us feel like we were at home. Should we ever book another future trip to this area of Peru, we would stay here again, no doubt! We will also be recommending to our friends and family planning trips to this area!

+ We spent one night at Rupa Rupa, the hotel is far beyond my expectations. The room has a full Mountain View with big windows on two sides. Plus they offer an electric heater which makes the room warm at night, I love the portable heater so much. The breakfast area is on the top of the building, view is fantastic. The hotel also keep my luggage while we were visiting Machu Pichu and they also allow us to take a rest in the terrace after we check out and waiting for the train. Highly recommend this hotel

+ Everything was great the service, the helpful staff, and the beautiful room with an amazing view. I just missed the note about the 100 stairs, which were quite a workout! Otherwise, the everything was fantastic.

+ The property offers breathtaking views, great breakfast and polite and helpful staff. It is walkable however, there are plenty of stairs to get to this, so be mindful of that before you book.

+ Very nice views and location. I advise to be in a good shape to go this hotel because is very high and you have to go up steep stairs.

+ This property was noisy, you could hear everything the other guests were saying. The stairs to get there were out of this world. If I had known how many stairs I had to climb to get there, I definitely would not have booked here. The breakfast service was very good and so was the front desk. But because of the stairs, I would not go back and do not recommend it.

+ Yes. There are stairs. But once there it’s like a quiet sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Staff was great. Loved it.

+ Friendly staff, nice views from the rooms. Clean. Basic breakfast. It’s at the quieter side of town away from the parties. We appreciated that.

+ The hotel was very loud and between the people upstairs, the motion light shining in the window every time someone approached, and someone trying to enter my room around 10 pm, I could not sleep. I did not feel safe. We booked 2 rooms but only used one because I felt unsafe being separated. They prepared a box breakfast for us but none of it was edible. There were a lot of bugs in our room as well. Lastly, there are far too many stairs up to the rooms.

+ The views were incredible. The space was quiet and the staff friendly. The hotel is near the square and only a 5 minute walk from the market/train/bus stations, but far enough away from the most active places to be calming. Be mindful of the hike up to the hotel! If you can pack extra light, do so. I was lucky to meet a couple of young men to help carry my suitcase up the flights of stairs and the hotel host carried it down for me when I left.
